DIA DE LOS MUERTOS ART SHOW

David Varela
I wanted to gather this opportunity to introduce myself (again) and bring to your attention an initiative I’m excited to be a part of. With the increasing pressure on our public school systems to reduce costs, many programs such as art have been drastically reduced or even is some areas completely dissolved. My goal is to raise awareness and funds to contribute to art programs and continue to make them available to children. These programs have had a dramatic impact on the lives of many including myself that have allowed me to further my education and develop a career.
My name is David Varela, Editor of OhSnaps, born and raised in the Imperial Valley, and now an artist in San Diego, California. In a few days, I along with other artists, under Ricardo Islas lead, also a former resident of the Imperial Valley, have been offered the opportunity to showcase some of our artwork at the Rhino Art Company and Gallery in Encinitas. We are fortunate not only to display our art at the Gallery but have been provided with the opportunity to keep 100% of the proceeds from the sales of our art. I would like to take advantage of this opportunity to give back to the community by donating 100% of my proceeds to art programs that are in desperate need within the Imperial Valley.
Please, join us on Saturday, October 22nd to celebrate a night of amazing Dia de los Muertos art and stay for your chance to win House of Blues San Diego concert tickets, movie & gym passes, art supplies packages, gift certificates AND MORE! A booth will be set up to purchase raffle tickets and a special donation jar will be available as well.
